We are using Totsbots' Easyfit V2 with velcro, I got the all white ones because they were cheapest plus 3 that were on sale. We have 15 of them, and they are supposed to go from birth to 17 kilos or something like that. I read somewhere that these nappies are supposed to last the whole diapering phase. We didn't start cloth diapering Madeleine until she was 4 kilos though (around 1 month) because they were just too big for her, even on the last row of snaps, and she had skinny little thighs.
So after now 4 months of cloth diapering, I must say I love it! Yes, there are leaks, but it's not really a problem for me. I don't mind changing her. And yes, I do a load of diapers a day, but it's really not a big hassle. They dry pretty fast too. The only thing is now that Madeleine is getting bigger and bigger, her pees are too. I stuff her diapers with these cotton folds my mom sent me (they were mine when I was little) and it absorbs really well. I'd say I could go 4 hours during the day without having a leak, and longer at night (she seems to pee less at night).
We use disposable diapers when we go out for a long time, but environmental friendly ones. I did at one point use some normal Pampers nappies and right away she got nasty rashes all over, even on her tummy. So I'm definitely sticking to her Easyfits for the moment, and I'm impressed with how white they've stayed! And I just use normal detergent. Sometimes I add a dose of baking soda, it makes me feel like it sanitizes them more.
However, Madeleine hasn't started solids yet...so I'll be making another update when that happens....
